Billiards Forum FeaturesIn order to fully utilize the abilities of the Billiards Forum, the administrators require that you register as a member. Registration is free, and allows you to post new threads in the Billiards Forum, reply to other people's threads with answers and expertise, edit your own posts for a brief period of time, receive email notification of replies to your posts and threads you specify, and send private messages to other members. To register, you will need to specify a username and password, and a valid email address. Entering your email address will not leave you open to spam. The administrator has configured the Billiards Forum to send you the final part of the registration process by email, so ensure that the email address you provide is valid and working. If you are under the age of 13, the administrator insists that a parent or guardian provide consent before allowing you to complete the registration process.
The little 80px by 80px images displayed under each post are called avatars. As a forum member with a registered account, you can edit your avatar.
Avatars are displayed in your profile, below your username on all posts that you make, and in private messages you send.
You can find your avatar administration page by clicking the "edit your profile" link at the top right hand side of this page, entering your password, and then clicking on the "edit your avatar" link. On the avatar administration page you will find three options:

You've probably seen others use smilies before in e-mail messages or other bulletin board posts. Smilies are keyboard characters used to convey an emotion, such as a smile
or a frown
. This bulletin board automatically converts certain text to a graphical representation when it is inserted between brackets [ ]. Here are the smilies that are supported by Billiards Forum:

You can easily add web links to your billiards forum message. All that you need to do is type the full URL (http://www.billiardsforum.info/), and it will automatically be converted to a hyperlinked URL in your Billiards Forum post. The key is to make sure you prefix your URL with the http://, https:// or file:// protocols. You can also add a mailto link to your message by typing in your e-mail address. Remember, Billiards Forum Rules prevent commerical linking of any kind. Here are a few examples...
Another way to add hyperlinks your billiards forum post is to use the [url]...[/url] tags. Just wrap them around the destination URI. Please note that all links leading to sites outside of the Billiards Forum will have the nofollow tags applied automatically.
You can also insert appropriate anchor text when creating hyperlinks in your Billiards Forum posting. You must use the following forum code convention to insert anchor text [url="URL"]...anchor text...[/url] in order to add the anchor text to the link. This works with mailto links as well.
You can make images become hyperlinks as well, by simply wrapping the [url="URL"]...[/url] tags around the [img]...image_url...[/img] tags. Please remember to use images sparingly, as they can slow down the loading of the Billiards Forum pages.

There are several Forum Codes you may use to change the appearance of the text in your Billiards Forum posting. Following is the list of codes currently available to Billiards Forum members:
You can control the color of the text quite easily with forum code. Be sure to close all code, and to use colors sparingly to enhance readability. The available colors are red, blue, pink, brown, black, orange, violet, yellow, green, gold, white, and purple. Simply enclose your text with [fontcolor] and [/fontcolor] to change its color.
You can control the size of the text quite easily with forum code. Be sure to close all code, and to use larger font sizes sparingly to enhance readability. The available sizes are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Simply enclose your text with [size=fontsize] and [/size] to change its size.
Moderators control individual forums. They may edit, delete, or prune any posts in their forums.
